Helping you get the most from Transport Direct

        

Compare CO2 emissions for your journey...

 

You can now compare the CO2 emissions of the four main modes of transport (Car, Rail, Bus/coach, and Plane) for your journey.

You can do a simple emissions comparison by inputting a distance in miles or kilometres. TD will tell you how much CO2 would be emitted if you travelled that distance by car, train, bus, or plane.

Getting Transport Direct on the move...

 

You can also get our Transport Direct Mobile service on your mobile phone or PDA for free.

You can search for next train departures and arrivals, check whether a train is running on time and look up times for tomorrow.


You can check scheduled bus times (for most of Britain).


You can also check if there are any current or planned disruptions for both road and public transport.


Visit mobile.transportdirect.info on your phone or PDA or use our mobile simulator to see how the service works and to send a link free-of-charge to your phone or PDA.


 

Getting Transport Direct on Digital TV...

 

Transport Direct is available via digital interactive TV, on Sky, cable and Freeview boxes with a modem or broadband connection. Using your remote control you can access up to the minute train real-time information and bus timetables as well as the latest traffic and transport news from the comfort of your sofa.

 

To find Transport Direct look for this icon on digital TV:

The Transport Direct service will usually be available from the main menu. To access Transport Direct follow the instructions below.

(then saving to favourites for  
future usage):

  • Press the Interactive button on your remote
  • Press 9 for TV Keys
  • Enter 'Local' (56225)
  • Choose your area
  • Select Transport Direct
    from the Main Menu*
  • Press the Interactive button on your remote
  • Select News & Info
  • Select Looking Local
  • Choose your area
  • Select Transport Direct
    from the Main Menu*

Transport Direct on Wii:

  • Launch Browser
  • Insert the following url into your browser: lookinglocal.gov.uk
  • Choose your area
  • Select Transport Direct
    from the Main Menu*

* This may sit behind a "travel" or "travel information" heading.
