10.1) How do I find a place on a map? 

Open "Find a place".


Click on ‘Find a map’ and enter the name of the place.


Once you are looking at a map you can choose to view many different places in the ‘Map symbols’ section.  ‘Transport’ symbols show on the map by default, but if you would like to show some of the other options on the map, click the one you are interested in, untick any symbols you are not interested in and click ‘Show selected symbols’.  (Note:  These can only be shown at the 5 closest zoom levels).

 

Transport Direct can show the following categories of places (‘Attraction/facilities’) on maps.

10.2) How can I see a map of incidents in my area?

From the ‘Live travel news’ page you can view incidents, road works and engineering works in Britain.  You can view these incidents on a map.  To do this, select a region from the drop-down list and click ‘Show on map’. 


Once you are viewing the map, move your cursor over any existing symbol on the page and information about the incident will pop up.     

10.3) How do I find a map that shows traffic levels?

Open "Find a place".

 

Click on "Traffic maps".

 

1. Enter the location for which you are interested in viewing traffic levels:

 

  • Select the kind of location
  • Type in the location
  • Confirm the location (if prompted)

 

2. Select the date and time for which you want to see the traffic levels

Open "Find a Place"

 

Click on "Transport network maps".
